karaokemo guides
Practical write-ups from the people who ship karaokemo. These are host notes from real nights, not a lyrics dump or a generic karaoke blog.
We write for the person standing next to the TV. Each page answers a job we actually get asked: unlock sound before guests arrive, tell a karaoke upload from a concert, keep shy singers moving, or stop running two Screen IDs by accident. The homepage is the tool. These pages are the host notes that tool does not fit on a button.
We do not publish lyric sheets, ranked charts, or scraped song databases. If a YouTube video has no words on screen, skip it — that is an upload problem, not a missing karaokemo feature. We also do not pretend a browser queue is a licensed karaoke machine. When those products diverge, the karaoke without a machine guide says so in plain language.
If you have never started a Screen ID, begin with the first-night checklist. If you have already survived one night and keep hitting the same stall, jump to mistakes that stall a karaoke night. New to the product itself? Read How it works first, then come back here when you are planning the room.
- How karaokemo works
Start a shared screen, share the Screen ID, and let guests queue YouTube karaoke from their phones.
- How to run a karaoke party
A host playbook: room setup, getting people connected, and keeping turns moving.
- First karaoke night checklist
A timed run-of-show from 45 minutes before guests arrive through the first three songs.
- Karaoke on a smart TV
Open karaokemo in the TV browser, unlock sound, and fall back to HDMI if the built-in browser fights you.
- Karaoke without a karaoke machine
What a shared-screen night can and cannot replace, compared with a laptop playlist or a licensed machine.
- How to pick a YouTube karaoke upload
Instrumentals, lyric videos, concerts, and embedding-disabled clips — what actually works on a shared screen.
- Troubleshooting
No sound, empty search, room not found, and other common karaoke-night problems.
- Song ideas for mixed rooms
Icebreakers, duets, and group choruses that get shy first singers onto the queue.
- Room layout, mics, and volume
Where singers stand, how to avoid feedback, and why TV speakers are not a karaoke PA.
- Mistakes that stall a karaoke night
Two screens, a seven-minute opener, YouTube-app queues, and other host errors we keep seeing.
How these pages are written
The same people who ship the screen and the remotes write these notes. When a guide mentions a ten-second “Up next” card, a playful score after a track, or skip living on the karaoke screen rather than on guest phones, that is how the software behaves this month — not generic party advice copied from a forum. If a TV browser cannot keep a YouTube embed alive, we tell you to HDMI a laptop instead of inventing a setting that does not exist.
Questions that are not covered here can go through the contact form. Include the TV brand and whether search, sound, or playback failed. We read messages from hosts. We do not need a catalog pitch.
